PATTAYA, Thailand — South Korea's Amy Yang won the Honda LPGA Thailand in Pattaya Sunday, finishing at 15-under-par 273 to hold off world No. 3 Stacy Lewis. Yang struck a 3-under 69 in the final round of the $1.5 million tournament at the Siam Country Club to see off Lewis from the United States, who was leading after each of the previous three rounds. The US national tied for second place with Taipei's Tseng Yani and South Korean Lee Mi-rim. Twenty-five-year-old Yang secured her second LPGA Tour victory with Sunday's performance. Her previous win was the LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship in 2013. Sullivan bags Joburg Englishman Andy Sullivan won his second European Tour event in South Africa within 50 days when he lifted the Joburg Open trophy Sunday. The perpetually jovial 28-year-old fired a final-round 66 for a 270 total at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club and a two-stroke triumph. He won the South African Open in Johannesburg two months ago, pipping local favorite Charl Schwartzel on the first hole of a playoff. It was a special day for Sullivan, who not only collected a $230,000 check, but also automatic entry to the 2015 British Open at St Andrews. The top three finishers in the European Tour-Sunshine Tour event secured British Open berths and the others went to Englishmen David Howell and Anthony Wall. Howell (69) and Wall (68) tied for second place with South Africans Wallie Coetsee (71) and Jaco van Zyl (66) and Irishman Kevin Phelan (66), but secured the spots on a world-rankings tie-breaker. Ko wins New Zealand Top-ranked Lydia Ko won the New Zealand Women's Open Sunday for her second straight victory. The 17-year-old New Zealander, the Women's Australian Open winner last week for her sixth LPGA Tour title, closed with a 1-under 70 at Clearwater for a four-stroke victory. She has 10 worldwide victories in professional events, also winning at Clearwater as an amateur in 2013. On Saturday, Ko broke the course record with a career-best 61 to take a three-stroke lead into the final round. She had five birdies, a double bogey and two bogeys Sunday to finish with a tournament-record 14-under 202 total. Australian amateur Hannah Green was second after a 68. Denmark's Nanna Koerstz Madsen was third at 9 under after a 71. England's Charley Hull had a 75 to tie for sixth at 7 under. The tournament was sanctioned by the European and Australian tours. Harrington holds lead at Honda In Florida, Ireland's Padraig Harrington held the lead after the second round of the Honda Classic Saturday with play abandoned in the afternoon because of severe rain. The rain wiped out the entire afternoon session, meaning the third round for most players will not begin until Sunday morning with a possible Monday finish looming. The 43-year-old Harrington shot a four-under par 66 for his second round at PGA National to go seven-under for the tournament. He has a stroke lead over American Patrick Reed, who posted two rounds of 67. But Harrington will be sorely disappointed to have ended his round with bogeys on the eighth and ninth holes. Britain's Ian Poulter's impressive 64 moved him to within two strokes of Harrington and level with American Brendan Steele. Luke Donald shot a 67 to move three strokes off the lead. World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, who ended up seven-over for the tournament, missed the cut. Joining the Northern Irishman with a weekend off were Britain's Justin Rose, Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell, South Africans Ernie Els, Charl Schwartzel and Retief Goosen and Canadian Graham DeLaet. — Agencies
