PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida — Ireland's Padraig Harrington held the lead at the end of the delayed second round of the Honda Classic Saturday after shooting a four-under-par round of 66 at PGA National. Harrington, a three-time major championship winner, has slumped to 297th in the world rankings and has not won on either the PGA Tour or the European Tour since 2008. The 43-year-old is seven-under for the tournament at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, giving him a stroke lead over American Patrick Reed, who posted two rounds of 67. But Harrington will be sorely disappointed to have ended his round with bogeys on the eighth and ninth holes. The second round was completed Saturday after rain delays Friday and the players will be straight back in action in the third round later Saturday. Britain's Ian Poulter's impressive 64 moved him to within two strokes of Harrington and level with American Brendan Steele. Another British player, former Honda winner Luke Donald, shot a 67 to move three strokes off the lead. World No. 1 Rory McIlroy missed the cut after shooting a four-over par 74 in his second round Friday to go seven-over for the tournament. Coetsee leads by two Wallie Coetsee takes a two-shot lead into the final round of the Joburg Open after a 2-under 70 Saturday. Chasing a first European Tour title, Coetsee extended his overnight lead by a shot with five birdies and two bogeys to go 14 under par at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington. There are four players tied for second behind him, with fellow South Africans Tjaart van der Walt and Jacques Blaauw, and Englishmen David Howell and Steve Webster 12 under. Coetsee managed just one birdie in his first nine but recovered to create an advantage for himself heading into Sunday's final round. He is also chasing a place at the British Open. The leading three finishers in the top 10 at the Joburg Open will qualify. Ko shoots into lead Top-ranked Lydia Ko broke the course-record with a career-best 11-under 61 Saturday to take the second-round lead in the New Zealand Women's Open. The 17-year-old New Zealander, coming off a victory Sunday in the Women's Australian Open, broke the Clearwater record of 63 set last year by Mi Hyang Lee in her victory. Ko rebounded from an opening bogey with an eagle on the par-5 second and birdied Nos. 4-7, 9-13 and 18. England's Charley Hull was second at 10 under after a 64. Lewis holds lead World No. 3 Stacy Lewis remained on top at the Honda LPGA Thailand Saturday but a series of costly bogeys saw her comfortable lead significantly depleted ahead of the final day. On Friday Lewis had stormed three shots into the lead during day two of the $1.5 million tournament at the Siam Country Club with a perfect round boosted by eight birdies. But she was unable to repeat that performance Saturday, shooting a comparatively uninspiring one-over-par 73 marred by four bogeys in the first nine. Only an eagle on the 15th kept her one shot ahead of South Korea's Amy Yang who fired off a dependable 71. Where Lewis struggled, Germany's Sandra Gal thrived, shooting a masterful six-birdie 68 bringing her up to third place and within a two-shot striking distance of Lewis. South Korean duo Jenny Shin and Lee Mi-rim will go into the final day in joint fourth place followed by two-time winner Tseng Yani of Taiwan. — Agencies
