Girls crushed to death by gym equipment

MAKKAH — Two students died after sports equipment fell on them in separate incidents. Minister of Education Azzam Al-Dakhil said both victims were girls and died in their respective gyms. One of the accidents was in Jazan and the other in the Eastern Province. Al-Dakhil said all education directorates are required to organize safety inspection campaigns for school gyms and report to the ministry via an e-portal if any maintenance is required. He also added that physical education instructors have the responsibility of teaching students how to use sports equipment and report to the school immediately in case of any injuries.
