RIYADH — The Council of Ministers on Monday reiterated its determination to stamp out terror from within the Kingdom and other parts of the world.
Custodian of the Two HolyMosques King Salman chaired the Cabinet's weekly session at Al-Yamamah Palace here.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Turaifi said the Cabinet emphasized that the Kingdom has been and is still in the forefront of countries that have made every effort to eliminate any thought or action that leads to terrorism.
“The Kingdom sees it as its responsibility to take part in any serious international effort that seeks to mobilize and combine international action in fighting terrorism and its sources.”
Al-Turaifi said the Cabinet appreciated the speech of King Salman at the ongoing Makkah Global Islamic Conference titled “Islam and Countering Terrorism.”
The Cabinet stressed the importance of the first World Summit on the fight against violent extremism held in Washington last week, and the second phase of the 10th national dialogue conference titled “Extremism and its effects on national unity” held in Jeddah.
The Cabinet approved a number of measures with regard to ratifying the ownership of plots of land handed to National Agricultural Development Company (NADEC), Qassim Agricultural Company and Tabuk Agricultural Development Company (TADCO). According to the measures, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Water and Electricity will supervise the preparation of a new survey of the plots of land handed to these companies.
The survey should include detailed information on currently cultivated areas and those that have been cultivated previously and are untapped now and those that have not been cultivated before. Functional and non-functional wells shall also be identified.
The Cabinet approved the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Civil Service and the Civil Service's Court of Jordan to enhance cooperation in the field of civil service, especially in developing regulations in the fields of job classification, training, recruitment and development of administrative leadership.
The Cabinet authorized President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) or his deputy to sign draft agreements with governments of Maldives, the Czech Republic and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the field of air transport services and then submit the final signed copies for completion of statutory procedures.
The Cabinet also approved an agreement with Azerbaijan for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion.
