HOFOUF — Police here arrested an expatriate for killing another Asian expatriate and burning his body. Eastern Province Police spokesman Col. Ziyad Al-Ruqaiti said police received a report from a citizen about a fire in a tent south of Al-Ahsa. Police arrived at the scene to find the remains of a body belonging to a 30-year-old expatriate from East Asia. Investigations revealed that another 30-year-old Asian expatriate murdered the victim by hitting him on his head with a metal rod.
The suspect then dragged the body into the tent before setting it on fire. The charred corpse was transported to the morgue and the suspect was taken into police custody. Meanwhile, a Saudi man was arrested for firing a gun at another Saudi following an altercation. Al-Ruqaiti said the two men were in their 40s. Even though the bullet did not hit the victim, police arrested the gunman for possessing a gun and using it in a public place.
