VW appoints Elite Automotive as new distributor in Kingdom
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 02 - 2015

AS part of its efforts to expand its VW brand dealer network, Volkswagen Group Saudi Arabia has announced the appointment of Elite Automotive Alliance as a new distributor in Saudi Arabia.
Volkswagen Group, being the largest automotive company in Europe, aims to revive the brand in the Saudi market in the coming period.
This partnership was sealed with the opening of EAA's new showroom on Khurais Road in Riyadh with the presence of media personnel as well as many car enthusiasts.
On the occasion, Michael Mueller, the Executive Director of Volkswagen and Porsche Saudi Arabia, said “we consider Saudi Arabia as one of the leading and largest automotive markets, which is why we aim to constantly provide the best quality services and products.
It is for that reason that it gives me great pleasure to announce our partnership with Elite Automotive Alliance EAA.
This partnership strategically aligns with our plans to expand the distributor network within the Kingdom as well as improve the overall level of service provided to the Saudi consumers.”
Mueller stressed on the importance of the Saudi Arabian market for Volkswagen Group, as the group considers the country as one of the most strategic markets in the region, thereby resulting in Volkswagen Group being the first automotive company to establish a direct investment in the Kingdom.
The announcement of Elite Automotive Alliance (EAA) as the new distributor alongside SAMACO represents a new phase in the company's commitment to insuring quality service.
He added “the partnership with the new distributor in Saudi Arabia is a huge step through which we renew our pledge to provide quality services to car lovers.
We welcome the new distributor and look forward to achieving significant growth and to move towards a very bright and successful future.
Faisal AlSaif, Managing Director of Elite Automotive Alliance, expressed his happiness towards this partnership and said “we are delighted to become the distributor of Volkswagen.
It gives us great pleasure to provide attractive, safe and environmentally friendly cars from this and other showrooms.”
He also added “Volkswagen cars are built and designed on the highest international standards and are distinguished through well-known and respected German engineering.
The launch ceremony of the showroom played host to the unveiling of Volkswagen's all new XL1, also known as Volkswagen's car of the future, this is due to the advanced automobile technology imbedded within the vehicle, as well as its futuristic exterior and interior that looks like something out of a sci-fi movie.
The XL1 will be available to the Saudi public by means of pre-ordering. The XL1 is a Plug-In hybrid electric car formulated to offer a low fuel consumption of one liter per 100 km making it the world's most fuel-efficient production car in the world.
Its plug-in hybrid system can cover a distance of up to 50 km in all-electric mode and therefore with zero CO2 emission.
This allows the car the ability to maintain a constant speed of 100 km/h using just 6.2 kW. The XL1 follows pure sports car design principles: low weight, 795 kg, perfect aerodynamics and a low center of gravity. In all-electric mode, the XL1 requires less than 0.1 kWh to cover a driving distance of over one kilometer.

Volkswagen Group Saudi Arabia is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and majority owned by Volkswagen AG.
