United beat League One Preston North End 3-1 to set up the last-eight clash with holder Arsenal which beat it in the 1979 and 2005 finals. Both clubs have won the famous trophy 11 times. Giant-killer Bradford City of League One, which caused one of the biggest ever FA Cup upsets by beating Chelsea in the fourth round before seeing off Premier League Sunderland in the fifth, got the home tie its manager Phil Parkinson wished for. The third-tier side will face Reading, struggling in 16th place in the Championship (second tier) and have a good chance of reaching the last four for the first time since 1911 when it won its only FA Cup. The draw was also kind to Liverpool, which was paired with mid-table Championship side Blackburn Rovers. England manager Roy Hodgson, who helped make the draw and has managed both clubs, did Liverpool the bigger favor. New Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood will be looking for two victories in four days over local midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion as his side battles against relegation and seek a place in the last four. Villa and West Brom, who contested three FA Cup finals between 1887 and 1895, will meet at Villa Park on March 3 in the Premier League before the Baggies make the short trip back there for the cup clash. The quarterfinals will be played on the weekend of March 7-8. United had to come from behind to avoid an FA Cup upset at Preston, rallying with three second-half goals to beat the third-tier club 3-1. Preston looked set to spring another major surprise in this year's competition when Scott Laird put the host ahead in the 48th minute with a deflected shot. But Ander Herrera equalized in the 65th for United and Marouane Fellaini followed up his own rebound to make it 2-1 seven minutes later. Wayne Rooney put the result beyond doubt with a penalty in the 88th after he was adjudged to have been tripped in the area by goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann. It was Rooney's first goal in 2015, but replays showed he went down without any contact from Stuckmann. Elche edges Eibar Elche earned a 1-0 win at Eibar to edge farther away from the Spanish league's relegation zone Monday. Elche striker Jonathas glanced Eduardo Albacar's lobbed free kick just enough with his head to send it bouncing past goalkeeper Xabier Irureta in the 50th minute. It was the Brazilian's team-leading ninth goal of the season. Elche stayed in 17th place, one spot above the danger zone, but did open a four-point gap above the three teams currently in the drop. A fourth consecutive defeat left Eibar in 10th place. — Agencies
