JEDDAH — More than 500 disabled children participated in the 3rd annual marathon organized recently by World Gym Saudi Arabia. Over 2,500 people turned out to watch the marathon, which was held on Jeddah Corniche from Al-Tawhid Square and until the finish line at Al-Nawrus Square. The children competed in two categories: Children aged above 9 years took part in a 1-km run while those under 9 took part in a 500-meter race. World Gym franchisee and CEO Badr Al-Shibani said the marathon, held under the theme “Come, we can walk together,” was organized with the objective of spreading awareness among the public about promoting the physical activities and capabilities of children with special needs.
