I am writing with regard to the article "Schabas' ouster won't help Israel" (Feb. 7). After William Schabas' resignation as head of the panel investigating last year's war in Gaza, the Israeli prime minister demanded that the United Nations shelve the inquiry. But instead the UN replaced Schabas with Mary McGowan-Davis who will continue the inquiry into possible war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza. Brushing aside the demands of the Israeli prime minister, the UN panel will produce its report on time next month. Schabas' ouster will not help Israel. Dr. Noorul Hasan, Online response
