I was greatly astonished by the celebrations, the overwhelming feelings of joy and the festivities organized by some people just because a royal decree was issued relieving an official from his post. I was happy when the concerned authorities took action against a certain coffee shop that offered hot drinks free of charge in celebration of that official's dismissal.
No matter what the size of the differences may be between us and the outgoing officials, no matter what we may feel toward any one of them, we have no right to celebrate or hate or gloat in such a manner.
Regardless of his position the official is, after all, a human being who is liable to make mistakes. He may issue, with no bad intentions, some instructions that may not be correct or to our liking. These are, however, not enough reasons for us to celebrate his removal from his post.
If the employees of any government department make it a point to celebrate each time the head of the department is dismissed from his position, what will be the state of our society today?
Is this the correct way to show our dissatisfaction over the ex-official and our welcome to his replacement? Will the new official, whom we received with joy and happiness, be an ideal person? Will he remain in his position forever? Is he not also liable to lose his position through dismissal, retirement or any other reason?
If the new official is relieved from his position, will he be happy to see the people who were against his ideas and inclinations celebrating his ousting?
Any official may have his own pros and cons. Nobody is perfect. However, there is no justification whatsoever to celebrate the ousting of any official no matter how bad he may be in our opinion.
It is true that people may have suffered a lot at the hands of some officials who may have delayed their office papers for years. These officials may have also halted development projects for no good reasons at all. However, these are all not good causes for us to celebrate their departure from office.
People have no right to be overjoyed because an official has been relieved from his position.
The celebrations held over the dismissal of some officials is a weird and a strange phenomenon in our society. The concerned authorities should not allow this to happen. They should strongly tackle this unusual social trait and never allow it to happen again.
The celebrators should be severely penalized so that others will learn a lesson and never dare to do such a thing in the future.
Our society has enough ills. It is already replete with negative aspects. We are not in need of a new sickness to seed dissension among us.
The government has formulated laws and regulations to hold the officials accountable for their mistakes and shortcomings. When an official makes a mistake, there is a system to penalize him. We should not make ourselves lawmakers or judges to punish the erring officials or to deliberate their dismissal.
It is akin to total chaos and complete anarchy when some individuals hold festivals to celebrate the dismissal of a government official. The ex-officials should not be named or shamed just because we may not be in agreement with them over what they might have done.
Our differences with ex-officials are not good reasons for celebrations and festivities.
