MUMBAI — Sonam Kapoor will play the role of Neerja Bhanot, the airhostess who died while saving passengers on board the ill-fated Pan Am flight 73 that was hijacked by four terrorists when it landed in Karachi in 1986. According to Hindustan Times, the three-member American crew in the cockpit fled, Bhanot risked her life to save passengers. She died while saving children from the bullets when the terrorists opened fire. The young airhostess, who was just two days away from her 23rd birthday, was internationally recognized for her brave act. Helmed by filmmaker Ram Madhvani, the shooting of the film will commence in Mumbai in about two months after Kapoor completes "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo." — SG
