Sama Steel, Lahore Lions triumph

RIYADH — Sama Steel and Lahore Lions recorded victories in the ongoing Saudi Orix Tournament which is organized by RCA and sponsored by Saudi Orix Leasing Company.
All players and officials wore black armbands, mourning the killing of innocent schoolchildren in Peshawar. Officials and players also took part in prayers.
In the 40-over tournament of Al-Kharaj League, Lahore Badshah lost a cliffhanger to Sama Steel. Batting first, Lahore Badshah posted a decent total of 334-9. Abdul Wahab smashed 132, while Imran (52) and Yasir (45) supported well. Sama Steel hit the target in the last over. Abdul Wahab grabbed 4 wickets.
Lahore Lions defeated Shuraim by 2 wickets. Shuraim tallied 241. Saifullah picked up 3 wickets, while Mansoor, Ubeid and Muzafar got 2 each. Lahore Lions achieved the target in 34.2 overs, thanks to Muzafar's knock of 139. Sami scored 33. Shani took 3 wickets, while Rizwan and Saleem grabbed 2 each.
In the 20-over tournament of Diriyah League, Sinmar CC defeated L'usine CC by 6 wickets. L'usine batted first and posted 165-9. Ali Malik top scored with 39, while Kashif and Talal managed 21 each. Akbar claimed 4 wickets and Rasheek 2. Sinmar won the match in 17.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Ishtiaq (49) and Jamsher (25) were the main contributors. Rustam Ali and Gamage took 2 wickets each.
Challengers-XI thumped Strikers by 27 runs. Challengers-XI made 205-6 through Ihsan (52) and Sony (49). Umer grabbed 3 wickets, while Arslan got 2. Amar's 112 was not enough for victory as Strikers could manage only 178-7. Ihsan and Nasir took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
In another close encounter, Delhi Dare Devils lost to Friends-XI by 1 wicket. DDD scored 161. Athar Shah was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets. Friends-XI crawled to 162-9. Athar (50) and Talha (38) were the main scorers.
Pak Saudi Warriors were humbled by Royal Strikers by 1 wicket. Warriors recorded 135-4. Bilal scored 46 and Haseeb 26. Dileep took 2 wickets. Royal Strikers coasted home for the loss of 9 wickets. Subair top scored with 44. Ijaz grabbed 3 wickets, while Usman, Bilal and Talal got 2 each.
