RIYADH – The Shoura Council on Tuesday approved a draft law on trade in petroleum products. Muhammad Al-Amr, secretary general of the Council, said that the law contains 16 articles that aimed at regulating all the commercial activities related to the petroleum products, including their sale, transportation, storage, distribution, import and export. There are provisions to protect consumers from the harmful effects of commercial fraud involving these products, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The articles also deal with violations and penalties and identify government authorities responsible for implementing the law and monitoring its implementation.
