The Ministry of Social Affairs will sponsor 150 orphans to perform Haj this year, according to an order issued by Minister of Social Affairs Yousuf Al-Othaimeen. The children come from the orphan houses operated by the ministry across the Kingdom. Another 150 orphans will be employed to work in security firms and hotels during Haj, said Ali Al-Hinaki, Director of Social Affairs Office in Makkah. A team of 35 social workers has already started working closely with the Civil Defense to arrest beggars who tend prey on pilgrims during Haj, he said.
