JEDDAH — International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) students have added one more feather in the cap for their outstanding and marvelous performance in SAT (2014 -15) examination. Shajil Muneer bagged the first position by scoring 2,400 out of 2,400. Taha Amin Ur Rahman who scored 2,350 out of 2,400 stood second while Mohammed Danish came third. A function was organized recently at the school auditorium to felicitate SAT toppers at the school. The dignitaries who attended the function included Indian Consul General B.S Mubarak, Consul Education and Head of Chancery and School Observer Mohammed Raqib Qureshi, School Managing Committee Chairman Raziq Abdul Vahid and Ahmed Najeeb Hashmi, member of the committee. In his speech, Mubarak, the chief guest, congratulated the students for scoring outstanding performance. He also lauded the hard work and efforts by teachers in nurturing students to achieve all round development of their personality. Highlighting the importance of team work in enabling students to score excellent performance results, Mubarak emphasized that students should update their knowledge and skills keeping pace with the challenges of the modern high tech world. Principal Syed Masood Ahmed welcomed the gathering. While congratulating students for their stupendous performance, Ahmed urged them to follow 4D's — dedication, determination, discipline and devotion. The consul general presented mementos and certificate of appreciation to the toppers. A total of 42 boys and nine girls appeared for SAT and all of them scored 1500 or above.
Eleven students scored more than 2,000. They are Abdul Hafiz, Talhah Shamshad Ali Ansari, Doss Heinz Raja, Fadhil Basheer, Shijah Mohammed, Abineya Rajan, Abrar Mohammed Zubair Sait and Usaid Saud Changan, in addition to the three top scorers. In speeches, the toppers shared the secret of their success and inspired other students to follow their suit. They were grateful to their parents and teachers who left no stone unturned in enabling them to achieve this marvelous performance. They acknowledged that their success was possible mainly because of extra coaching classes by teachers before and after the school hours. The toppers felt that their meticulous performance was made possible due to the real guiding spirit, support and untiring efforts of dedicated teachers. In equal vein the unflinching cooperation of parents also helped them a lot to score top marks, they recalled. The function began with recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur'an by Ameen Mohammed followed by translation by Ishaq Mohammed Khan. Vice Principal Dr. Najeeb Qais proposed the vote of thanks.
