Some of the expected 4,500 pilgrims from Iraq have begun to arrive in the Kingdom. Around 1,000 Iraqi pilgrims arrived Monday at the Al-Raqe'i border crossing, the closest to southern regions of Iraq, having proceeded through Kuwait. Hamad Bin Salman, Director General of Customs for Technical and Information Affairs, recently conducted an inspection of Al-Raqe'i Customs to ensure that the Pilgrim City and the Customs Department are prepared for the influx. Iranian Haj pilgrims numbering 580 have also been welcomed into the Kingdom via King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah where they were received by Talal Qutb, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tawafa Establishment.
