Senators give St Louis the blues
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 11 - 2014

As Colorado Avalanche's Matt Duchene (No. 9) moves to the net to shoot the puck, Arizona Coyotes' Mike Smith (L) has the goal fall over on him as Coyotes' Keith Yandle defends during overtime in Glendale, Arizona, Tuesday. — AP

NEW YORK — Bobby Ryan scored the only goal in the shootout, lifting the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 win over the St Louis Blues Tuesday.

Robin Lehner stopped all three St Louis (14-6-2) shots in the shootout from T.J. Oshie, Alexander Steen and Vladimir Tarasenko.

Ottawa (9-7-4) sent the game to overtime with two goals in the third period, including the tying goal by Alex Chiasson with 41 seconds to play.

Predators 4, Kings 3 (SO)

James Neal scored the shootout's only goal in the sixth round as Nashville beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3.

Los Angeles evened the score at 3-3 only 38 seconds into the third period on a classic end-to-end rush by defenseman Drew Doughty, who finished the sequence with a 32-foot wrist shot for his second goal.

Stars 3, Oilers 2

Tyler Seguin scored twice and defenseman John Klingberg had a goal and an assist as the Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3-2.

Seguin's goals came in the second period, increasing his league-leading total to 17.

Edmonton (6-14-2), who have lost seven straight, got a shorthanded goal from Boyd Gordon late in the first period before Taylor Hall scored early in the third.

Jets 4, Blue Jackets 2

The Winnipeg Jets scored nine seconds into the game then added two more 31 seconds apart in the second period to cruise to a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Brian Little and Andrew Ladd each had a goal and an assist while Blake Wheeler had two assists for the Jets (11-9-3).

Ducks 3, Flames 2
Anaheim Ducks goaltender Frederik Anderson defeated former teammate Jonas Hiller to lead Anaheim past Calgary.

Hiller faced 29 shots and blocked 26, while Andersen made 32-of-34 saves for Anaheim.

Corey Perry scored his 12th goal of the season for Anaheim (14-4-5), who held a 3-0 lead before staving off a late Calgary (13-8-2) charge.

Canucks 2, Devils 0
Ryan Miller earned his 14th win of the season in net as the Vancouver Canucks beat the New Jersey Devils.

Miller's second shutout of the season kept him tied with Nashville's Pekka Rinne, who also won on Tuesday, for the league lead with 14 goaltender victories.

Avalanche 4, Coyotes 3 (OT)
Colorado center Daniel Briere was credited with the game-winning goal in overtime when his centering pass bounced off Arizona center Martin Hanzal and into the goal to give the Avalanche an overtime victory over the Coyotes.

Hanzal was attempting to clear the puck in front of the net but instead put it between the legs of goaltender Mike Smith as the Avalanche (8-9-5) overcame a 3-0 deficit for their fourth victory in five games. — Reuters
