Renault rolls out Captur new urban crossover
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 11 - 2014

THE new Renault Captur was unveiled on Wednesday in Dubai ahead of its introduction throughout the Gulf region in the presence of Renault-powered Formula One drivers Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado. The new urban crossover vehicle was presented by Arabian Automobiles, the French manufacturer's official distributor in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
Coming in the wake of the brand image's renewal, the Captur marks the next step-up in Renault's design offensive. Through Captur, the diamond brand delivers the best of three different worlds: the expressive styling and driving position of an SUV, the cabin space and modular interior of an MPV, the agility and driving enjoyment of a compact hatchback.
Peyman Kargar, Renault VP for the Africa Middle East India Region, said: “As the brand's first urban crossover, Captur combines all the advantages of an MPV, an SUV and a family hatchback. It is a distillation of Renault's constantly inventive approach to the segment. Captur has been designed for love at first sight with passion and it is this French “joie de vivre” that Renault wants to bring to the U.A.E market!”
Renaut Captur will be available in Arabian Automobiles showroom from 8th December with prices starting at AED57,900.
Captur is the new urban crossover from Renault. Its flowing lines highlight its distinctive proportions, while its large wheels, generous ground clearance, wide tracks and steeply raked, forward-set windscreen form a unique blend of MPV, SUV and hatchback, conceived and made reality by Renault. Renault Captur lends itself perfectly to an extensive personalization program, too.
With its many permutations of two-tone bodywork, wheel colors, light and dark interior trims, upholstery fabrics, Captur will appeal to a particularly broad spectrum of tastes and desires. The creative freedom enjoyed by Renault's designers shines through in the features and generous interior space expected of this type of vehicle.
Though compact, Renault Captur is particularly roomy. The sliding rear bench seat provides the ideal balance of space for passengers and their luggage, with a maximum carrying capacity of 455dm3 (up to the baggage cover).
In the passenger compartment, two ingenious innovations underline Captur's character as a truly user-friendly vehicle: a large drawer-type glove box, which is easy for the driver to reach and holds 11 liters, and the availability of removable seat covers which can be unzipped, machine washed at home and refitted.
Pleasant and reliable, sturdy and frugal, the Renault Energy petrol engine does not forget the qualities IT owes to Formula 1: technology, fuel economy, flexibility and endurance. Driving pleasure and fuel economy are the common denominators of Captur's 100% turbo engine.
The new TCe 120, combines power and controlled fuel consumption (5.9 L/100 km and 138 g/km of CO2). Responsive, lively and agile, it is both powerful and quiet. Its 83 kW deliver torque of 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm. For even greater driving pleasure, it is connected to a 6-speed dual-clutch EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic gearbox.
Renault Captur features Renault R-Link, an innovative integrated tablet which is connected to both the car and the internet at the same time. It provides quick and easy access to a broad selection of useful services such as: TomTom navigation, multimedia, telephone system, fuel consumption efficiency… R-Link puts Renault Captur one step ahead of the competition in terms of multimedia features. — SG
