The buffet restaurant of Mövenpick Hotel Al Khobar, The Blue, is hosting a 10-day Vietnamese Food Festival beginning Nov. 12, 2014. Every evening between 6.30 p.m. and 11.00 p.m., two guest chefs from Mövenpick Hotel Saigon, Chef Huynh Anh Thuan and Chef Cao Van Thanah will showcase the authentic flavors of Vietnam through spreads of traditional and delectable Vietnamese specialities. Pomelo and tiger prawn salad, fried crab with black pepper, spring rolls, pho noodle as well as deep-fried sticky rice and mango pudding are some of the many menu options that will be served. To make the night a more delightful culinary experience, there will be a carving station for roast chicken and lamb in addition to a live wok cooking. The Blue restaurant will also be adorned with recognizable Vietnamese decor such as the popular Nón Lá or conical hats, bamboo furnishings, lanterns, umbrellas and traditional music. “We are extremely excited for the launch of our food promotion as this is the first time we are bringing the flavors of Vietnam at The Blue”, said Wassim Issa, Food & Beverage Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Al Khobar. “Not common to many, we want to take a step forward and introduce this delectable cuisine, which is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of oil and reliance on herbs and vegetables. Indeed, Vietnamese food is considered to be among the healthiest in the world,” he added. Restaurant guests will get a chance to win one of two return tickets to Vietnam courtesy of Emirates Airline, along with a complimentary two-night stay at Mövenpick Hotel Saigon or Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi. Buffet is priced at SR 210 per person. Children below 6 years dine for free, while those from 6 to 12 years dine for half the price. — SG
