JEDDAH — Five prominent members of a local community announced the donation of SR 500,000 for a school project in Jazan, according to Press Consular Sohail Ali Khan at the Pakistan Consulate General here Sunday. The press consular that on Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khoker and Vice Consul Welfare Syed Tahseemul Haq Haqqi's visit to Jazan, a large number of people in Jazan had raised the issue of the establishment of a school up to grade 8 for their children. Khan said the consul general appreciated their commitment for the cause of education and advised them to prepare a feasibility report showing the number of intending students, cost of land and construction of building and the running cost per annum. Khoker also said that the dream for the establishment of a school could come true by the unity of community members. He also assured the community of his legal and moral support in this regard. Around 40 members of the community from various walks of life attended the meeting. The consul general also highlighted the services being provided by the Passport Section and Welfare Wing of the Consulate. He also informed members that since joining the consulate he has been endeavoring for improvement of services for the community and eliminating the culture of favoritism and nepotism from the consulate.
