Emirates NBD receives four Excellence in Practice honors
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 08 - 2014

Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, had participated in the prestigious International Conference & Exposition recently organized by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) in Washington, with the objective to further enhance and implement training programs at the bank on par with global industry standards.
The ASTD also awarded Emirates NBD with four “Excellence in Practice” citations for its training programs, making Emirates NBD the top bank in the Middle East region and the only organization from the GCC to win four citations. Emirates NBD was recognized for its Certified Associate Program (CAP) and Certified Manager Program (CMP) in the Performance Improvement category, Certified Performance Manager Program (CPMP) in the Facilitating Organizational Change category, and Designing & Implementing a Strategic Learning & Development Approach in the Organizational Learning & Development category.
ASTD's Excellence in Practice program recognizes organizations for results achieved through training and development solutions, and citations are presented to organizations with promising practices that have shown will demonstrate measurable results.
“At Emirates NBD, we believe that our human resources represent our greatest capital, and the bank is constantly on the lookout for ways to enhance the competence and skills of our staff,” said Husam Al Sayed, General Manager-Group Human Resources, Emirates NBD. “The bank's participation at the recent ASTD conference was truly a learning experience, as it opened up the potential for a variety of training and development opportunities within the bank, through the opportunity to interact with similar minded organizations from across the globe. That our training programs were recognized by ASTD with four citations, is clear evidence that we are on the right track to further develop our human capital at the bank.”
Attended by delegates from 92 countries, including a number of renowned names from the field of Training and Development, the conference provided a truly global experience for the participants.
Over 30 different parallel sessions focusing mainly on training, leadership and management, enabled delegates to get a comprehensive view of the possibilities in this field. Hassan Amin and Michael Don Biete from Emirates NBD's Learning and Development team represented the bank at the event, to learn how training programs are conducted in various organizations internationally, and understand how these could be model programs to incorporate at Emirates NBD. — SG
