With reference to the article "STC cautions its customers to beware of fraudulent calls" by Nawaaf Al-Shalani, I received a call from the number 0538665424. The caller told me I won SR200,000. Then I got an SMS from STC giving a temporary password with a note not to disclose this password to anyone, not even to an STC representative. The guy who called to inform me about the alleged lottery win, asked me to tell him this temporary password sent by STC. I said I can't because STC said not to disclose it to anyone. After that the guy started abusing me in my native language and closed the call. I knew it was a scam. An engineer, Jeddah II. I had experienced similar scam and was unfortunately duped. I blame the STC as it controls the SAWA numbers and I was shocked at the service that I received when complained about the scam. I had my complanits cancelled without ever talking to any agent in English about the case. I urged everyone to be careful! Even the wise can be scammed. Abdulkareem, Online response III. My wife received a message from an alleged STC agent asking her to call. Six times she send a load for SR100. And then a man called asking for SR900 for "bank processing". I went to the nearest STC outlet and the staff there confirmed that we were victimized. Warning to all, if you receive such notification, visit the nearest STC outlet immediately. Ian, Online response IV. I was also victimized by this scam. If STC knows about this, it should have sent sms alerts in English and in Arabic to their customers. It sends promo and advertisements, why would it be difficult for them to send warnings and alerts. I lost the only budget I have for a month and was in debt. David, Online response V. I was lucky. I had two calls from different numbers 0552053962 and 0550877271. I was asked to get SR2,100 SAWA cards and give the caller all the numbers of the cards to get the cheque. This particular caller had Pakistani descent. I did not believe him. STC needs to alert all SAWA users of this scam. Denise, Online response
