I am writing with regard to the post “Muslims need a course correction” (June 26). It seems that we Muslims never learn anything which has been sent to us by Allah through our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The main drawback which is snowballing in the present-day Muslim Ummah is the lack of a strong will to accept the faith and belief in Allah and the prophetic teachings. When it comes to practical applications, it seems that we are all divided by sects. This is the main issue of present-day Islam and Muslims. Why don't we instead forget about sects and give importance to the Qur'an and prophetic teachings. Muhammed Shakir Hussain, Online response
