Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — Reel & Rom surprised JCA champion MHA, while Al-Gudaid thumped Al-Boroj in the 4th week of the Morning League sponsored by Jotun Paints and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA). Reel & Rom beat MHA by 7 wickets. MHA put up an impressive total of 203 runs in 20 overs. Sajid (47), Zia (36), Usman (37) and Shahid (25) did the bulk of the scoring, while Bilal (2 for 38) and Frankie (2 for 18) shone with the ball. In reply, Reel & Rom reached the target of 206 for the loss of 3 wickets in 17.5 overs. Irfan and Amjad stole the limelight with identical scores of 72 each to ensure a comfortable win for their team by 7 wickets. Irfan had 8 fours and 1 six while Amjad had 7 fours and 2 sixes. Al-Gudaid thrashed Al-Boroj by 8 wickets. Al-Boroj put on 218 runs. Kamran was on a rampage as he hit a belligerent 89 off 37 balls with 14 fours and 3 sixes. Usman (32) and Shabbir (26) supported him with useful knocks. Ali, Tariq, Waseem and Arshad took a wicket each. In reply, Ghafoor matched Kamran ball to ball and went on to score a century giving scant respect to the bowlers as he thrashed them for 12 sixes and 6 fours to end with a score of 111 off 48 balls. It reached 219 for 2 in 15.5 overs. Yusuf gave him a solid stand of 53 off 20 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Noor chipped in with a useful 20. Al-Khulais beat Butt Sports by 4 wickets. Butt Sports, batting first, scored 169 with Imran Butt (22), Imran (48) and Junaid (33) among the runs. Hafiz Ismail (2 for 31), Khalil (3 for 37) and Hasnain (2 for 14) restricted them to 169. In reply, Al-Khulais was home (170) in 17.5 overs. Adnan Bhatti scored a solid 71 with 5 sixes and 3 fours, while Irfan (25) and Adnan (21) gave him good support. Umar, Adil and Junaid picked up 2 wickets each. Pak Young downed Jeddah Shaheen by 39 runs. Pak Young scored 236, thanks to a superb innings from the blade of Tahir, who scored 123 off 56 balls and single-handedly put Pak Young to an imposing tally of 236. His innings was studded with 18 fours and 5 towering sixes. He was so dominant that the next highest score was 19 by Arif Hashmi. Abdul Khaliq and Jamil bore the brunt of the attack, while taking 2 wickets each for 50 and 41 runs respectively. In reply, Jeddah Shaheen gave a solid reply with Farahad making 55 (5 fours and a six) and Fazal 53 (1 four and a six), while Abdul Khalique (39) and Messiullah (21) gave good support. They could, however, only manage 197 in 20 overs. Fazal (3 for 17) and Hanif (2 for 7) stole the limelight with the ball.
