RIYADH – The Special Criminal Court in Jeddah on Tuesday awarded death sentence to a man, convicted of sedition and rioting in Awamiyah in Qatif region, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The judge gave the convict one month's time to go on appeal against the verdict. The court found the accused guilty of committing several crimes. These included inciting sedition, rioting, attacking security men, carrying weapons, targeting security patrol team by throwing Molotov cocktail, robbery at a pharmacy in Awamiyah, obstructing security men from performing their duty, taking part in demonstrations and shouting anti-government slogans, besides giving shelter to wanted militants and those who fired at security men.
