Samar Yahya Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — A seminar titled “The story of failure and the beginning of success” held here recently was aimed at boosting the morale of the youth in their practical lives. Leaders of businesses, culture, media and writers shared their experiences with the new generation of young men and women. The seminar was enriched with speakers from diverse fields such as Jameel Farsi, Turky Al-Dakheel, Abdou Khal, Sara Al-Ayed, Helmy Natto and disabled online painter and graphic designer Rakan Kurdi. Turky Al-Dakheel, famous media anchor, spoke about his failure as a journalist; however he succeeded as a media anchor. Sara Al-Ayed, the only female speaker and member of female youth committee in Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry recalled her 15 years experience in business and public relations until she became a renowned business woman. Jameel Farsi said success follows failure, yet one has to be ready for it. “You might also lose your second chance for success due to a speech with sharp criticism or so you might have given years ago.” Helmy Natoo spoke about his obstacles on his way to success and how he overcame them and started his own business in the optical field and another success as a radio presenter. Rakan Kurdi's disability never stopped him; he made use of the long hours he spent on the computer. Now he has become a famous online painter and graphic designer. Fahd Jameel Momenah, member of the National Committee for Youth Business at Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry explained that the real success is the one that comes after failure, saying: “He who has never failed, has never succeeded”
