G72 games... drifting toward a virtual skill
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 05 - 2014

Saudi Gazette report

G72 racing wheel games has been growing in popularity among 18-year-olds and schoolboys, who are crazy about car drifting. Sitting in front of a screen, boys can enjoy a simulator experience where they can drift with their cars. Usually, Internet cafes have such entertainment games.
Al-Madinah daily visited one of the cafes in Khamis Mushayt. The owner said most boys and young men come frequently to enjoy the virtual experience of car drifting. It is good they come here very often instead of going out on the road and practicing car drifting where they can end up hurting others and themselves.
The cafes that provide such simulator provide a service by providing youths to expend their energies indoors while deriving vicarious pleasure. Inordinately, practicing at the wheel also hones their skills, which could prove beneficial on the streets..
The prices are reasonable and affordable; never exceeding SR20 per an hour. Boys love to challenge one another and compete on screen to see who performs the most difficult drifts.
While talking to a group of young men about the time they spend playing these games, one of them said he goes to the café every day and plays for two hours. He noted that there are several tricks for drifting and only those with experience know how to pull them off, adding that this is what makes the games a blast.
Another one said he goes with his friends to the café on daily basis and each spends at least SR80 playing. They find the game enjoyable; besides, it prevents them from hanging out on the street aimlessly. Some boys have become literally addicted to the games that you see them there all the time, he said.
