New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees showed just why he leads the NFL in passing yards by inspiring his side to a 37-32 victory over the San Diego Chargers at Wembley here Sunday. In the second regular season match to be played at the home of English football, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers showed his class as well by throwing for three touchdowns. A see-saw contest came down to the closing couple of minutes. With 70 seconds left, Rivers threw only his sixth interception of the season. New Orleans then voluntarily conceded a two-point safety as they tried to run down the clock. There was still time for Rivers to throw one long-range pass with just a second left but the ball was batted away by the Saints defense to leave the last play incomplete. Rain couldn't dampen the spirits of a crowd of over 82,000 fans but, unlike last year's fixture at Wembley where the New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins 13-10, bad weather didn't reduce the amount of end-zone action. Victory for the Saints saw them move to a 4-4 record at the eight-game halfway mark of the season.
