Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH – Acting Minister of Health Adel Fakeih announced that three medical centers in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province have been designated as specialist facilities to deal with coronavirus cases. This is part of the ministry's urgent plan to contain the spread of the virus. In a press statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Saturday, Fakeih said the King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah will be the main center for coronavirus cases due to the advanced medical facilities at the complex. Prince Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital in Riyadh and the Dammam Medical Complex in the Eastern Province will tackle in the specific regions all cases related to the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) caused by coronavirus. These centers have 146 intensive care beds, advanced labs, out-patient clinics and isolation rooms fitted with state-of-the-art equipment. He said later the ministry will designate more centers for this purpose in other regions of the Kingdom. Fakeih hoped the designated centers will play an effective role in the ministry's plan to contain the virus. The minister said this measure will be followed by a number of medical and curative steps. He said the ministry is studying all possible options to meet the challenge posed by the MERS virus.
