Turkey's Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker said that Turkey wanted to enhance its relations with Saudi Arabia in the area of agriculture, TurkishPress.com reported Sunday. Eker received a delegation from Saudi Arabia in Ankara, headed by Saudi Commerce and Industry Minister Abdallah Bin Zainal Ali Rezat. Speaking during the visit, Eker said a group of Saudi businessmen wanted to make agriculture investments in Turkey. He said Turkey also wanted to undertake joint projets with Saudi Arabia. He said they would assess the demands of both parties, and added that they would begin working on projects should they agree on certain points in line with interests of both countries. Saudi Minister Ali Rezat said they included Saudi businessmen in their delegation in order to show them the business opportunities in Turkey. He said three of the most prominent companies in Saudi Arabia formed a consortium with the aim of making agriculture investments in Turkey. Ali Rezat said they were encouraging the accompanying businessmen to make investments in Turkey, noting however that Saudi businessmen faced certain difficulties. He said they expected Turkish authorities to solve these problems.
