Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — The JCA-organized T20 Morning League, sponsored by Jotun Saudi Arabia for the 5th straight year, kicked off in style here recently. In the second week matches, Pak Young beat Al-Boroj by 28 runs. Pak Young posted an imposing score of 208 for 8. Azmat led the way with a solid knock of 60 off 25 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes and along with Zafar (54) laid the foundation for a big score. Yasir (44) and Fazal (30) also made useful contributions. Usman and Kamran bowled well to take 3 wickets each for 30 and 35 runs, respectively. In reply, Al-Boroj gave a befitting reply with Ossam scoring an unbeaten 71 off 32 balls, Kamran 28 off 9 balls and Usman (28). However, Fazal put in a fine all-round performance taking 5-23 and along with Afridi and Wasim, who took a wicket each, ensured that Al-Boroj was restricted to 180-7. Jamoom Fighters beat Al-Khulais by 64 runs. Jamoom Fighters were bundled out for 135 as Khalil (3-17) and Hasnain (3-20) ran through their batting. Only Adil (35) and Arshad (24) were the ones to bat sensibly. However, in reply the experienced lineup of Al-Khulais developed cold feet and was dismissed for 71. Kamran bowled a fiery spell and took 5-15, while Faisal chipped in with 2-13 to hand debutant Jamoom Fighters a solid win. Zahoor (13) and Adnan (10) were the only batsmen to reach double figures. Earlier in the first week action, Pak Young beat Jamoom Fighters by 6 wickets. Jamoom Fighters, batting first, could only manage 140 with Adil (25), Umar (38) and Kamran (27) chipping in with useful contributions. Others succumbed to the bowling of Fazal (3-28), Riaz Afridi (3-25), Azmat (3-26). In reply, Pak Young knocked off the runs (142) for the loss of 4 wickets with Azmat making 54 off 24 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes) and Zafar 45 off 27 balls (3 fours, 3 sixes) and Yasir (20). Kamran and Umar took 2 wickets each for 40 and 32 runs, respectively.
