JEDDAH — An Arab national was killed in a horrific accident on the Makkah-Jeddah expressway on Tuesday. The victim was driving to Makkah when his car swerved off the road, went through the steel fence in the middle of the highway and collided with two cars on the opposite side. The Civil Defense cut through the wreckage to remove the victim's body, while the other cars' occupants suffered various injuries and were transported to hospital. Road security forces and the traffic police were also on hand to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Meanwhile, three motorists suffered various injuries and fractures in a car accident on Al-Baidhah Road on Tuesday. Makkah Red Crescent spokesman Ali Al-Ghamdi said paramedics attended the scene and provided first aid to the injured and transported them to Al-Noor Hospital. Traffic police are investigating the accident.
