JEDDAH — The current wave of dust in various parts of the Kingdom has been caused by active surface winds especially in the central region, according to the head of the department of meteorology at King Abdulaziz University. Mansour Bin Attiah Al-Marzouqi said he expected the dust storms to gain more momentum, especially in the coastal areas of Makkah Province. He, however, said there is no or very little probability of rainfall in Jeddah. Chances of limited rainfall are likely in Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Qassim and the Eastern Province. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health advised people suffering from asthma to stay indoors or to wear protective medical masks if they have to go out.
