MADINAH – The mayor of Madinah region Dr. Khaled Abdulqader Taher confirmed the mayoralty's support for all government authorities by allocating the required sites in Madinah and its governorates. This comes within its duty to give a push to the wheel of development and the speedy development the region is witnessing. In a statement to SPA, he said: “The mayoralty allocated during last year 20 locations for 17 government authorities and institutions in Madinah with an area exceeding 750,000 square meters. Aside from these, it allocated 59 sites for the Ministry of Islamic Affairs so as to build mosques with an area exceeding 200,000 square meters. The mayoralty also allocated plots of land to build 110 education buildings and facilities.” Dr. Taher said: “The mayoralty handed over a plot of land in Madinah with an area exceeding 4 million square meters as a first stage from a total area required to be allocated for the Ministry of Housing in Madinah estimated at 18 million square meters. The ministry will develop the land so as to construct houses for the citizens in Madinah.” The ministry also received 17,000 residential plots of land in the region for the citizens. Of these, 5,700 plots of land are in Madinah. The mayoralty recently handed over a plot of land with an area of 500,000 square meters so as to set up an industrial estate in which women will be working.
