I am writing with regard to the report “Municipality razes kiosks of widows and divorcees” (Mar. 11). It is havoc at the entrance of Taiba Owais market on Olaya Road in Riyadh. Women food vendors selling homemade jareesh, balilah, samboosa, kabsa and biryani are blocking the entrance to the market. I am not sure if any of them are widows or divorced. There are also Saudi men manning table stalls selling counterfeit perfume and designer accessories. I hope the authorities will allocate a wing for homemade Arabic food vendors so that they will no longer block the market entrance. Avid1111, Online response
