Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Foundation for Economic and Educational Development (FEED) a Hyderabad based NGO has opened its doors for NRI students of Kingdom. Addressing a press conference here recently, HIE Trustee Khalil Ahmed said: “We are providing training for psychological development of a child coupled with Islamic education because we believe that without morality you cannot be good leaders and the morality would come from learning from your religion “Islamic teachings are reflected from the modern prospective and relevancies are noted in day to day life and reflected and compared on how to live life within the modern context.” Ahmed said: “Our purpose of coming here is to invite Indian expatriates, who are looking for better education of their children in India, to our residential school where we shape them into the finest beings.” According to him FEED has been functioning for almost 21 years in the field of educational development and extending financial help for the poor and needy under various programs. Almost 40,000 students have benefited through us and over a hundred crores has been spent in education for the cause of poor Muslims in the form of scholarships from our trust. Ghiasuddin Babukhan, Managing Trustee of Feed, said over two decades ago we began highlighting the importance of Zakat in Islam and distribute the funds so collected among the deserving. This has now became a movement and a mission covering 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh with a spillover into neighboring states of Maharashtra and Karnataka.” Earlier, Ahmed showed a small documentary film about their establishment, faculties, infrastructure, scholarships and recreational activities. He also said that they aim to do roadshows in various cities of Kingdom for spot admissions.
