CARSON, California — Ireland captain Robbie Keane has agreed to a contract extension to stay with Major League Soccer side the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Galaxy didn't release terms of the deal announced Wednesday. Striker Keane has been one of the top scorers in the MLS since moving to Southern California in August 2011. He has contributed 34 goals and 21 assists in just 55 MLS appearances while helping the Galaxy to win back-to-back league championships in 2011 and 2012. The 33-year-old striker has been a member of MLS' Top XI in each of the past two years. He had 16 goals and 11 assists in 23 appearances last season. – AP
