With reference to the article "SWC: Killer of leopard will not be prosecuted" (Feb. 26), I grew up in an area where cougars had become rare. Because they were so rare, a farmer or rancher was required to prove that a cougar was attacking his herd before he could kill it. He recorded the cougar's activities before he was allowed by the authorities to shoot the predatory animal. The case of this guy in the article seems to be different. He took the law into his own hands and poisoned the animal. This could have caused more damaged if the poison was eaten by other animals. He should be prosecuted. TJ, Online response
