JEDDAH – Makkah Emir Prince Mishal Bin Abdullah has told the youth of Jeddah to avail the optimum benefits of various employment-generated schemes launched by the government and advised them to become job providers instead of job seekers. He made the remark while addressing a gathering of businessmen, members of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and a large number of youth after inaugurating the 6th annual Jeddah Young Business Expo at the Jeddah Center for Forums & Exhibitions here on Monday. The exhibition is open to the general public until Feb. 24 in the morning and evening. It is organized by the JCCI. The Emir of Makkah also toured the stalls and greeted those participating young male and female entrepreneurs. He appreciated their efforts and wished them that such expo proves beneficial for their own good. In his speech, he urged the private sector to support those young entrepreneurs and lead them to the right direction and assured them that his office is open for them to remove any obstacles they face. He said “our presence here today is an expression of pride in youth as they demonstrate their creativity, initiative, and commitment to excellence. I really encourage them to aim high, think big, and put their creativity to practical use." He added “tonight we are also reminded that successful entrepreneurship depends on the ability of youth to innovate, to create new knowledge and new technologies.” Meanwhile, Fawaz Khaiat, president of the 6th annual Jeddah Young Business Expo, said the expo comes as part of Jeddah Entrepreneurship week which aim to offer guidance, directions, expert advice, and financial support to help small businesses grow and produce successful businessmen and women. He also said that the week included workshops focusing on students, entrepreneurs, small business owners and employees in the public and private sectors to develop their management skills and financial management, in addition to reviewing some success stories of entrepreneurs.
