Mobily announced the launch of its world class Advanced Connectivity Services. Dr. Marwan Al Ahmadi, Mobily Chief Business Officer (CBO) opened the celebration of launching Mobily Advanced Connectivity Services (ACS) last Tuesday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.
The event was attended by key executives, IT & technical senior staff of private and governmental companies and agencies, in addition to key ICT solution providers. Advanced Connectivity Services are designed for both government and the business sectors in the Kingdom.
The services are based on Mobily Smart Network which contains advanced fiber optics coverage, and offers a range of optical transport services in accordance with safe, flexible and high reliability ranges.
The Advanced Connectivity Services provide a highly reliable solution for high-speed data transfer up to 1 terabit / sec with high levels of security at a competitive cost. It also utilizes the latest technologies that minimize network downtime while providing a high degree of operational flexibility that enables the transfer of all types of mission-critical applications and data that require a reliable, secure, high speed and low latency world class network infrastructure.
These services meet the needs of many sectors including public sector, finance, health care, education and many others as it adapts with the continuous exponential growth in the volume of data passing across Mobily's secure and flexible high capacity networks.
ACS supports a wide range of customer applications such as High-performance storage, Large databases and data warehouses, storage backup systems and recovery systems, Synchronous and Asynchronous Network-based storage requirements and includes many services such as “Wavelength “ and Carrier Ethernet.
Engineer Mohammed Basafi, Mobily Chief Technical Officer FBN, Fixed & Broadband Networks, said this service is a reflection of Mobily's transformation plan to become a comprehensive IT services provider with regard to connecting companies at high speeds. He added that our partnership with Ciena comes in line with the transformation experienced currently in Mobily not only for its leadership, but for also being able to overcome the challenges faced , which will be reflected positively on our services provided to our customers.
Engineer Omar Sayed , General Director of Ciena in the Kingdom and Sales Manager of the Operators in the Middle East, said that “we have a high demand for services designed for demand in the Middle East, accordingly Mobily is working to meet this high demand depending upon its strong infrastructure. Presently all sort of companies and institutions can have their own special designs to connect their head offices with branches to meet their IT and telecommunications needs.”
“Mobily” and Ciena had succeeded recently in their experiment of passing data at one terabit / sec within the city of Riyadh, in a significant step reflecting the robustness of the infrastructure for the Mobily network and its ability to pass data with such tremendous speed. — SG
