With regard to the post “Saher collects money by tricking drivers” (Feb.1), one thing that irks the driving public is that it is very obvious that the traffic department is mulcting money out of the pockets of weary drivers who are caught by Saher cameras at intersections were no timers are installed or where there are timers but they are turned off. It is about time that the ministry the traffic department is under should take action and penalize those officers who intentionally and deliberately order timers to be turned off as this is unfair as well as being extremely dangerous. Manong, Online response II. I am one of the victims of these tricky Saher cameras. The traffic signal did not have a timer and the traffic light was green. Just as I was crossing the intersection, the light became yellow and then red. At that moment I got a fine of SR 500. I registered my complaint to the official Saher website but until today I have not had a response. In the end, I paid the fine so that it would not be doubled. The authorities should realize that the Saher system is not always accurate. They should accept their mistakes and reimburse the unfair amount they charge people. Zuhaib Khan, Online response
