For the fourth consecutive year, Germany's TUV reliability report has declared Toyota its most successful brand, with 15 Toyotas appearing in the top 10 positions of the study. TUV, Germany's leading technical inspection agency which carries out the majority of all mandatory technical inspections in the country, conducted the testing based on approximately eight million vehicles between July 2012 and June 2013. First published four decades ago, the annual TUV report has become a helpful guide for consumers who are interested in understanding the long-term reliability and quality of cars on sale today. Toyota's RAV4 SUV model proved its quality and durability by claiming third place in the category for eight to nine years old, and an even better second place in the ten to eleven year segment. This proved to be a hugely rewarding category for Toyota models, as the RAV 4 was joined by the Corolla (third) and Yaris (fourth) to prove that a Toyota is running as well in its second decade as if it was a brand new car. Among so many Toyota successes in the rankings, the standout result is the Prius, proving beyond doubt the reliability of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive system. Scooping two class wins, the Prius, Toyota's pioneering Hybrid, won the reliability award for cars aged four to five and six to seven years of age. The Prius was launched in 1997 as the world's first mass-production hybrid vehicle. Toyota has over 1000 new patents on the 2010 Prius , leading the way in developing new technologies and bringing these to the market. The Prius had the lowest defect rate of the category, underlining the strength of not only the hybrid drivetrain, but the high reliability of the model in general. Adding to the successes, Toyota also dominated the categories for cars older than five years. Toyota continues to position highly in rankings all around the world in categories ranging from top auto brand to top global auto maker in terms of sales. With recognition for the Auris, Avensis and Corolla Verso, the 2014 TUV report was a significant validation for Toyota's renowned high quality. Dating back more than half a century, the partnership between Toyota Motor Corporation and Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ) has grown into one of the biggest automotive dealership in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of the the biggest Toyota independent distributor in the world.
