Saudi Gazette report RIYADH – Security forces have arrested two Saudis for their involvement in crimes in collusion with wanted militants in Awamiyah, Qatif in the Eastern Province. Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said that Abdullah Al-Ammar and Ahmed Al-Ammar have confessed to their crimes. Al-Turki said their crimes included firing shots at security officials and their vehicles as well as at Qatif prison. During interrogation, the accused also confessed to several other crimes apart from targeting security men. They were involved in armed robbery at commercial shops and houses as well as in 13 cases of stealing vehicles and kidnapping. They were also accused of taking part in the murder of a Saudi restaurant employee, and kidnapping and raping of two Asian women workers. The spokesman said that the accused will be handed over to the concerned investigative authorities to complete the investigation and refer the case to the judicial authorities. He urged those who have any information about the wanted militants to inform the nearest police station or contact the toll free number 990. Meanwhile, Abdul Hadi Al-Qahtani, a security official, was killed and six others injured when a wanted criminal in drug case fired at them from his hideout in Aflaj in Riyadh region on Monday evening. The criminal and two of his accomplices were arrested. Riyadh Emir Prince Khaled Bin Bandar and Deputy Emir Prince Turki Bin Abdullah visited on Tuesday the injured security men at the Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh. Earlier this month, the Special Penal Court in Riyadh sentenced four people to prison and banned them from traveling after they were convicted of rioting in Qatif. The court convicted them in two separate hearings, each with two defendants.
