The case of the six men allegedly involved in the gang-rape of a Filipina was on Saturday referred to the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution (CIP) for preparing the ground work for their trial. Three men were accused of kidnapping and raping the woman while the other three have only been charged with rape, a source in Jeddah Police said. The source said all six have confessed to the crime. They have also confessed that they stole the woman's mobile phone and sold it. The culprits, the source said, claimed that they had no crime record and it was the first time they were involved in any criminal activity. The “relieved” husband of the victim thanked the police authorities for arresting the six who allegedly kidnapped and raped his wife. Meanwhile, the victim has been discharged from the hospital after receiving physical and psychological treatment. The Filipina victim appreciated the efforts exerted by the police officials in arresting the criminals. She said the kidnappers also tried to drag her friend into their car but luckily she escaped.
