Saudi citizen Mohsen Aqeeli (L) was digging a well in the courtyard of his house in a village near Wadi Jazan town. At 25 feet, a black liquid gushed out of the well with the smell of petroleum. Aqeeli and other villagers got panicky thinking that they were sitting on a fuel bomb. They approached the governorate. Accordingly, Prince Muhammad Bin Nasser, Emir of Jazan region, formed an expert committee to inspect the well. Mousa Zaala, spokesman of the governorate, said the committee found two fuel tanks located 200 meters and 370 meters respectively from the well. The Emir endorsed the recommendations of the committee to close the fuel storage tanks and directed Saudi Aramco to carry out necessary geophysical survey at the site. — Okaz photo by Iftikhar Bahafain
