JEDDAH — Nadec Blue Star blanked last year's runner-up Paras Team BCC 3-0 in their First Division encounter to become the first team to reach the SIFF–Western Union Soccer 2013-14 semifinals here over the weekend. BCC defender Sameer sent Nadec in front through an own goal. Captain Nisar Koya doubled the lead in the 25th minute and Majeed completed the rout with a goal in the second half. Nadec is through with a match in hand. Nisar Koya won the second consecutive Man-of-the-Match honor. The 17th league championship being organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum (SIFF) is mainly sponsored by Western Union Money Transfer. The cosponsors are Nokia, JNH, Badr Al-Tamam Polyclinic, VLCC, Zimo, Al-Abeer Medical Group, Rabea Tea and ABC Cargo. In action in the Second Division, newcomer Al-Abeer Sharafiya stunned Jeddah Sports club (JSC) with a 2-1 thumping. JSC started off well and went in front through Ziyad in the 15th minute. But it missed the opportunity to increase the lead when Shameem shot wide from the spot. Al-Abeer made a spirited comeback in the second half to first level the scores through former university player Dr. Naresh. Abdul Hakeem scored Al-Abeer's match-winning goal three minutes before time. Haseeb of JSC was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match. Earlier in the Inter-School Category, Mahadul Uloom International School edged past Al-Wurood International School 2-1. Abdul Aziz and Binshad netted the goals for the winner, while Sulthan scored the consolation goal for Al-Wurood. Jamsheer of Mahadul Uloom School was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match. Indonesian International School, meanwhile, routed Bangladesh International School 3-0. Striker Husni scored two goals, as Rami completed the rout. Husni was declared the Man-of-the-Match.
