JUBAIL — International Indian School Jubail (IISJ) created history by literally sweeping through almost all the top honors on offer at the XXIII Cluster Meet Debate Competition - 2013 of the CBSE-affiliated Indian Schools in Saudi Arabia, which was held at the International Indian School Riyadh (IISR) on December 16. It was really a proud moment for the Jubail team as they grabbed eight first prize trophies and one second prize trophy and were crowned the Overall Champions of the competition. In the juniors category, IISJ won the Junior Team Championship with Reshma Koshy getting the first place among girls and Rishabh Rajeev bagging the second place among boys. In the senior's category, IISJ won the Senior Team Championship with Rincy Koshy and Kuriakose Jacob bagging the first place among girls and boys respectively. It was a dream come true for sisters Rincy and Reshma Koshy who humbly attributed their success to all those who helped. “It was truly a remarkable experience. All thanks to God Almighty, principal Dr. Syed Hameed for motivating us, teachers and mentors for their arduous effort, parents for their support, all school mates and fellow debaters for their encouragement and critics. Proud to be an IIS JUBALIAN,” they said. Rajeev also shared the same sentiments. “The debate gave us an insight in logical organization of thoughts and effective communication in a competitive environment,” said Jacob. School Principal Dr. Syed Hameed while commending the students' performance and recognizing the teachers' meticulous planning and preparation said: “IISJ has a rich history of producing debate champions; this year my students raised the bar and reached the zenith.”
