I am writing with regard to the article "Saudi women employed as janitors at SR1,500" (Dec. 18) which reports that the Saudi women employees are complaining that their company is not paying them the minimum wage for Saudis and that it is "too harsh on them and asked them to do impossible work." I empathize with all people who are suffering. However, before making a lot of noise about the situation of the Saudi women in this article, I wonder if the reporters have checked the plight of South Asian expat cleaners. They are paid SR 500 by contract companies. I wish that everyone who worked endless hours sweeping the roads got even close to SR 1,500. Let's have the same yardstick for everybody.
