I am writing with regard to the article "Deport us!" (Nov. 15) which reports that some illegal expatriates incited others like them to demonstrate in front of Jeddah's deportation office. These people have run away from their sponsors and want to be sent home. I have been approached by two Ethiopians, two Indonesians, two Filipinos, one Bengali and one Sri Lankan all asking for help to find a sponsor. Each of them individually admitted that he was "Huroob" (missing from work) and had ran away from a good employer in order to make more money than was stated in his contract. None of the families these individuals had run away from were abusive. I had no desire to employ anyone who had previously run away from someone who spent upwards of SR 12,000 to get them to the Kingdom in the first place. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but these illegal expats deserve whatever comes their way. SN, Online response
