TABUK – For 37 years the site where a Greek ship sank near Al-Haql coast has continued to attract visitors who flock to the coast to enjoy watching the shipwreck. Georgeous sank in 1978 after hitting coral reefs. Every weekend visitors can be seen on the beach facing the shipwreck. Muhammad Al-Sudais does not miss a chance to spend the weekend with his family on the beach. They barbecue at night while enjoying the quietness and serenity of the place. “Nothing can be compared to the mesmerizing and dazzling view of the sea,” Al-Sudais said. Saad Al-Harthy said the shipwreck is a famous tourist attraction here. He called upon the Saudi Commission of Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) to invest in the location and even provide it with all necessary services for visitors. The site has been known by the “Ship Place” among locals and even visitors from outside the region. The ship has also become a landmark for many. Muhammad Al-Daghriri complained about the lack of basic services at the beach, wondering why such beautiful place is being neglected by local authorities. He loves to come to the beach with his family and pass the time.
